Row & Loop Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 16, 2026

Row & Loop ("the app", "we", "us") is made by Shawn Avery, an individual developer. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. Questions: support@pcsolutions.studio.

The short version

  • Row & Loop has no accounts and no sign-in. Your projects, patterns and photos stay on your devices and in your own iCloud. We can't see them.
  • The app has no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and it doesn't send your data to us or anyone else.
  • If you email us, for example to report a problem with an import, we receive only what you choose to send.

1. Information that stays with you

These are stored on your device and, if iCloud is on, synced through Apple's iCloud private database to your other devices. We do not have access to them.

  • Projects, counters, row positions, session times and stats
  • Patterns you write or design, and mosaic charts
  • Imported PDFs and images, highlighter positions, progress photos and notes
  • App settings (US/UK terms, left or right hand, haptics and similar choices)

Apple handles iCloud data under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Camera and photos. The app only sees photos you pick or take. They stay on your device and in your iCloud. When you share a finished project, a time-lapse or one of your patterns as a PDF, or save one to your photo library, that happens through Apple's share sheet, only when you choose it.

Photo-to-mosaic converter and pattern import. Turning a photo into a chart, and reading the text of an imported pattern, happen entirely on your device; no photo or pattern is sent anywhere. Import reads text with Apple's built-in text scanning. If you turn on background removal, the converter uses Apple's built-in subject lifting on your device. The chart itself is always worked out by fixed rules, and no pattern is ever made by AI.

Emails you send us. If you email support, including with "Report a problem with this import", the app opens your own Mail app with the message filled in. You see all of it before sending, and nothing is sent unless you tap Send. The app itself sends nothing. A report can include, if you choose, the printed text of the rows that didn't import, and the pattern file only if you turn on "Attach the pattern file". We receive your email address and what you send, use it only to answer you and fix the problem, and never share or publish it.

2. Crash reports

The app has no analytics or tracking tools. Your stats and streaks are worked out on your device. If you agreed to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple sends us anonymous crash and diagnostic reports, which we use only to fix problems, never for advertising.

3. Purchases

Row & Loop Plus is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card or billing details. The app checks your purchase status with Apple on your device to unlock Plus features. The free-trial reminder is a notification scheduled on your device.

4. How we use information

We use the information above only to answer your emails, fix problems, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell or rent personal information, share it for advertising, show ads, or use your patterns to train AI models.

5. Who we share with

Nobody, apart from Apple's own services that you already use: iCloud sync, App Store purchases, and the optional crash reports above. We may disclose information we hold (such as support emails) when required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, to protect the safety of users or the public, or as part of a merger or sale of the app (in which case this policy continues to apply).

6. How long we keep it

  • Your app data: on your devices and in your iCloud until you delete it. Deleting the app removes it from that device; data in iCloud can be removed in iOS Settings.
  • Support emails: pattern files you attach are deleted once the problem is fixed, and the emails themselves within 12 months.
  • Crash reports: kept by Apple under its own policies.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Turn off iCloud sync, camera or photo access, notifications, and analytics sharing in iOS Settings at any time.
  • Ask about or delete anything you've emailed us by writing to support@pcsolutions.studio. We answer within 30 days.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, or California), you may have extra rights, such as access, deletion, objecting to processing, or complaining to your local data protection authority. We honor these rights for all users, wherever they live.

8. Children

Row & Loop is not directed at children under 13. The app collects nothing from anyone, and it has no accounts or ways to talk to other people.

9. Later versions

A future version may add optional community features, such as sharing your own patterns, with sign-in. They will be optional, and we'll update this policy and tell you in the app before they arrive.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, tell you in the app before they take effect.
